Volunteer

“I wish to extend my appreciation to the excellent volunteers at Living Yoga and their willingness to come into the prison and share a way to locate our personal balance with mind, body, and soul.”  Inmate from Coffee Creek Correctional Facility

Volunteers are the heart of our work. Living Yoga is committed to Community Engagement and we value the opportunity to not only serve the individuals in our programs, but to work along side community members in providing those services.

Currently we have over 70 active volunteer teachers, seven volunteer Board Members, and several volunteer committee members and pro-bono consultants supporting our organization.

We honor the effective use of human resources to fulfill our mission by providing meaningful opportunities, as well as extensive training, mentoring, and support.  We are respectful of peoples’ time investments and sense of safety.  And, we strive to create community through events, and through our Continuing Education Program, which offers on-going education and instruction, and opportunities for growth and self-enhancement.

“Thank you so much for your services. I really appreciate that you give up your own time to teach yoga and help us relax and get a sense of spirituality.”  DePaul Drug and Alcohol Treatment Center,  Teen Girls' Program

There are several ways to volunteer with Living Yoga:
