Yoga was traditionally taught to men only, from one teacher to one student, from one guru to one disciple. The student’s ‘payment’ for yoga was their dedication to their practice and their service to their teacher. Yoga is now taught to all levels of students in a wide range of locations, from yoga centers to high schools to athletic clubs and beyond. Today, most yoga students today pay for class with money. Students in Living Yoga’s programs need only ‘pay’ with their presence in class. It is Living Yoga’s belief that yoga awakens each student’s potential to be of service to the community when they ‘graduate’ from institutional life. Your donation allows us to continue transforming lives that once threatened the community with crime, violence or poverty to lives that are lived with awareness and respect.
